Automated email reminders are sent to encourage them to pay, but if they do not, the request will expire.
If the request does expire, you will receive an email notification.
You can follow up with the Payer and then resend the payment request. To resend a payment request, press the red “Resend Request” button.
Statuses and their meanings
Requested: SkySlope information has been used to make the DepositLink payment request available to send.
At this point, the payment request has NOT yet been sent out.
Once you manually press the “Resend Email” button, the initial email is sent to the Payer.
Pending: The Payer has received your payment request and has paid it. At this stage, the payment has not yet left the Payer’s bank account. The Payer has until the end of their ACH window to cancel their payment (generally 5pm ET that day).
Funds Arriving: The payment made by the Payer has successfully left their bank account, but has not yet been received by eXp's bank.
Posted: The payment has posted into eXp’s bank account and two banking days must pass to be confirmed as “Cleared”.
Cleared: The payment has been successfully deposited into eXp's bank account.
Expired: The 10-day window has passed without the Payer sending the payment. You will press the red “Resend Request” button to resend this payment request.

SkySlope
What if the contact information for my Payer has changed?
Update the Misc. Contact section of the SkySlope transaction if the DepositLink status of the transaction is “Requested” or “Expired”. Once adjusted in SkySlope, the update will pull over to DepositLink within 5 minutes.
I entered placeholder information into SkySlope to create my transaction, and that is the only info showing up in DepositLink.
What do I do?
If you have not pressed the “Resend Email” button on the transaction in DepositLink to send this placeholder information to the Payer, then this can be updated easily. Edit the information in your SkySlope file. Once you save that information, it should pull over to DepositLink within 5 minutes.
DepositLink
What kind of payment methods are supported through DepositLink?
Only ACH payment is supported at this time. Credit and debit card payments are not supported.
Does DepositLink support payment from International banks?
No, DepositLink does not support International banks. DepositLink only supports ACH payments from US bank accounts.
Is there a cost to use DepositLink?
Yes, the Payer of a rental commission request will be charged a $15 convenience fee when making a payment through DepositLink.
What do I do if my property address is not listed in the "Deal" section of DepositLink?
It may take up to 5 minutes for your request to appear in DepositLink after creating your SkySlope file.
Please double check that all information in SkySlope was entered correctly and that you pressed the “Submit” button.
The most commonly missed section in SkySlope is “Misc. Contact” under the “Contacts” tab.
Should I click the purple button labeled “Request Payment for Sale” in DepositLink for rental/lease payments?
No. If you are using DepositLink for rental commission requests, the information will be added automatically from the information inputted into SkySlope.
There are no circumstances where you should click on the purple button labeled “Request Payment for Sale” to manually add rental commission requests. This button would only be used to create earnest money requests for Sales.
Requesting a Rental Commission via the “Request Payment for Sale - Earnest Money Deposit” is commingling of funds and illegal for eXp as a Brokerage. Do NOT do this. Instead, follow the workflow outlined in this document. Your first step should be to create a transaction in SkySlope.
Why does the status say "Requested" when I haven't sent a payment request?
This simply means that eXp has proactively created the transaction in DepositLink using the SkySlope data. The payment request will still need to be sent out by the agent.
Why do I have to click "Resend Email" when I haven't sent a payment request?
This does NOT mean a payment request has already been sent. This button will always read "Resend Email" whether a payment request has been sent or not.
TROUBLESHOOTING
DepositLink
How do I update my commission or Payer information AFTER a payment request has been sent?
Ensure that the information entered in SkySlope (which pulls over to DepositLink) is accurate before sending the request to the Payer.
- If the information is incorrect and you must adjust the Commission and/or Payer information AFTER the request has been sent, this will delay your payment—this delay occurs if the transaction in DepositLink is “Pending”, “Funds Arriving”, "Posted" or “Cleared”.
- To make the adjustment, update the SkySlope field that was incorrect, and you will see the updated information pull into DepositLink within 5 minutes.
- The updated request will appear below the first request, which can then be sent out to the Payer. (highlighted in YELLOW below)
What do I do if the status on my payment request says "Cancelled"?
Follow the same process to update any necessary information in SkySlope, which will pull over to DepositLink within 5 minutes. The updated request will then appear below the cancelled request, which can be sent out to the Payer. (highlighted in YELLOW below)
